Moon And Reflection
Moon and reflection at the beach in Ayia Napa, Cyprus. I like the mood of this shot, but unfortunately my camera made a lot of noise in the image :( or is this normal with an 60s exposure when it is dark? (with an APS-C sized chip) Original size is here

doesn't look too bad to me (at the "big" size)

Looks good to me, too. I don't know about Olympus cameras, but it seems the longer you let light in on a digital, the more noise you might get. I don't take a lot of long exposures, though, so I'm no expert.

Thanks Celine :) I just posted a link to the original size. I expected noise, but not as much. And this is already processed with anti-noise set to max! Sadly my Olympus doesn't go lower than ISO 100.

The longer your exposure is, the more heated the sensor gets. This creates more noise :P.

actually it doesn't look like usual noise (red/green) dots, but more like heavy film grain!

There's two types of "digital noise". One is chroma, or color, noise, which is the red/green dots you're talking about. The other type is luminance noise, which looks similar to film grain.

David, you really know what you're talking about when it comes to cameras. I think that's rather cool.
