The Myvatn area of Iceland is like much of the rest of the country - stunningly beautiful and tranquil. The only problem around Myvatn (this is a smaller lake near to the lake of Myvatn), is that the 'My' bit in the name means 'midge'. And there are lots of them. Millions, in fact. The whole ecology is run on midge meals, but at least they don't bite. Ever been to Iceland? If not, book a trip now!

Britannia Bridge, built by Robert Stevenson. Initially a rail-only link between the Welsh mainland and Anglesey, this is now the major rail and road bridge in the area.

Some organic matter in a very inorganic, acidic mine drainage pool. The colour is true. Critics: please remember I'm still shooting with a Nikon 4500 (4MP) after my dSLR's lens went under the car!
